How to Make Mississippi Sin Hash Brown Breakfast Casserole

This casserole is super easy to make.  Start with cooking the hash browns in a skillet in some oil and cook them until they start to brown. Place the hash browns in a baking dish. Top with diced and cheddar cheese. Whisk together eggs, milk, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Pour over the hash browns and bake. Garnish the baked casserole with chopped green onions.

  • Thaw the frozen hash browns before browning them in the skillet.
  • I used Frank's Hot Sauce for the hot sauce in the recipe.
  • Is Mississippi Sin Hash Brown Breakfast Casserole spicy? No. There isn't enough hot sauce to make the dish spicy. If you want a spicier dish, add more hot sauce.
  • Can Hash Brown Breakfast Casserole be made in advance? Yes! You can assemble the casserole ahead of time and refrigerate it overnight before baking. If you are baking this right after taking it out of the refrigerator, you may need to add a few minutes to the cooking time.
  • Can Hash Brown Breakfast Casserole be frozen? Yes! You can assemble the casserole and freeze it for a quick meal later. To bake the casserole after freezing, thaw completely and bake as directed.
  • Don't need to feed a crowd? You can split this casserole between two 9×9-inch pans. Bake one now and freeze one for later.
  • Is Mississippi Sin Hash Brown Breakfast Casserole gluten-free? For a gluten-free meal, make sure to use a gluten-free Worcestershire sauce.
